Our aim at My Care My Choice is to provide families and organisations a consumer review site to provide people with accessible, non-biased information on the services they will be accessing. We want to open the dialogue between providers and their users for honest open feedback.

These guidelines have been developed to ensure reviews left by My Care My Choice users are helpful and informative for other people looking for care services and for service providers to improve their services and programs. For information on how to write a review, click here.

Please read the guidelines below for specific types of content that you might contribute to the site.

Inappropriate content: Don’t swear in English or any other language. No threats, harassment, lewdness, hate speech, and other displays of bigotry. Be respectful when you’re writing about a negative experience.

Conflicts of interest: Your contributions should be unbiased and objective. For example, you shouldn’t write reviews of your own business or employer, your friends’ or relatives’ business, your peers or competitors in your industry, or businesses in your networking group.

Relevance: Please make sure your contributions are relevant and appropriate to the forum. For example, reviews aren’t the place for rants about a business’s employment practices, political ideologies, extraordinary circumstances, or other matters which don’t address the core of the consumer experience.

Privacy: Don’t publicise other people’s private information. Don’t identify specific people in your reviews by using people’s first names or surnames. Try using “they” or “them”. Don’t use information specific enough to identify people. For example, naming a particular service running on a particular day at a particular location may lead to others being able to identify a specific worker or consumer.

If you are helping someone else write a review, make sure it’s based on their experience, using their own words as much as possible. If your experience is different to the person you’re helping, write your own review.
