How to Write a Review
Thank you for offering to write a review of a provider and help other people in the community. Your contribution helps other people make informed decisions and chose the best provider for them.
To write a review, if you are not registered on this site, you must first register as a user. Then you can search for the provider in either aged care, mental health and disability services by typing in their name using the search tool on the home page. Once the provider appears on the results, click on their name to view their profile and then click Write a Review.

The Star Rating is designed to be an easy way for users to quickly rate a provider, without having to provide a written review. You rate your provider on specific elements of the service below:
- Customer Service
- Quality of Care
- Value for Money
- Safety and Hygiene
- Facilities and/or Food
When rating a provider you must leave a rating for each of the above criteria for it to work.
My Care My Choice recommends using the following scale when leaving star ratings:
5 stars = Excellent
You loved this service and wouldn’t change a thing
4 stars = Good
You thought they provided a good service and were satisfied with your experience
3 stars = Average
This service was ok, however you identify areas they could improve the customer experience.
2 stars = Poor
You had a negative experience and were not happy with the service(s) provided.
1 star = Terrible
You were extremely unsatisfied with the service provided, and may have even made a complaint. You do not wish to use this service again.
Writing a Review
The best reviews are passionate and touch on personal experiences and stories. They offer a rich narrative, a wealth of detail, and a helpful tip or two for other consumers. Here are some additional thoughts for conscientious reviewers.
Personal experience: We want to hear about your firsthand consumer experience, not what you heard from someone else. Try to tell your own story without resorting to broad generalisations and conclusory allegations.
Accuracy: Make sure your review is factually correct. Feel free to air your opinions, but don’t exaggerate or misrepresent your experience. We don’t take sides when it comes to factual disputes, so we expect you to stand behind your review.
Review updates: Review updates should reflect a new experience or interaction with the business. Don’t tell a story you’ve already told. If you’d like to add new insight to a previous experience, just edit your review instead of creating a new update.
Consider answering the following questions when writing reviews:
- What did I like about my experience, and what do I want to stay the same for myself and future users of the service?
- What’s something I particularly liked and would like to see more of?
- What didn’t I like about my experience and want to change for myself and future users of the service?
In addition to these, consider the following when writing reviews:
- Use an example to illustrate your experience
- Suggest a change or improvement
- Be clear
- Be detailed
